About The Purple Moose

If you have made it to this page, you are probably wondering, is this person nuts? A purple moose? What is this site all about?

First I better introduce myself. My name is William Charlebois. I love creating art! I spent almost 30 years working as a computer tech. I guess you do have to be kind of nuts to work with computers for that long. During that time, however, I developed a love for creating digital art. I also love working with mixed media.

After taking an early retirement, I became an ARTbundance Practitioner. ARTbundance is a philosophy developed by my wonderful friend Marney Makridakis, the founder of Artella. It is rooted in using creativity and play to help everyone cope with whatever life throws our way.

Are you still wondering what a moose has to do with any of this? Well, I smile every time I see a moose. It has spindly legs, a large body, a bulbous nose, and, perhaps the most noticeable, massive horns. It’s a very odd looking creature! Yet in its northern habitat, it is one of the kings of the forest.

Many of us have felt like a moose at some point in our life. I bet you didn’t know that, did you? Let me explain. We may have felt we were different than most people. Sometimes it seemed like we just didn’t fit in. We’ve had an inner voice constantly telling us that we weren’t good enough, weren’t talented enough. Perhaps it even told us we were too funny looking for people to like. We sure didn’t feel like we were the king or queen of anything!

Believe it or not, everything our inner voice, our “inner critic,” told us was/is a bunch of nonsense! All we need to do is take simple steps to quiet it. Better yet, we can even turn it into our friend. My goal is to offer inexpensive online classes that will help us let our beautiful inner moose out by conquering our inner critic.

Oh. Why is the moose purple? I read that purple stands for royalty, happiness, passion and trustworthiness. Sounds good to me. Plus, I love purple!
